STANDARD
PROGRAM MATERIAL
The Morning and Evening Prayer are based upon the Book of
Common Prayer and consist
of the psalms, epistles, and prayers.
Each day, the Morning Study begins with a reading on the
art of Lectio Divina, which leads into the mornings
Scripture verses related to the chosen theme.
The Spiritual Readings are taken from classic Christian
authors and revolve around the specific theme of the program. Authors
include St. Augustine, Oswald Chambers, Thomas a Kempis, Henry Nouwen
and John Wesley, among many others.
The Spiritual Exercises focus on stories of Christ in the
Gospels. Based upon the Hebrew understanding of remembering as reliving
an encounter with God, these meditations on the life
of Christ provide a fresh point of entry into the familiar Gospel
narratives.
