What
is a Self-Directed Retreat?
In simple terms, it is a retreat that you and God
design.
As you listen to His voice, God will direct your time at Pastors Retreat
Network, but sometimes it is helpful to have a few ideas about what you
might do to make this a special time with Him. How you spend this time
will profoundly affect your life and ministry, it will change your heart
and your perspective.
Below are some suggestions; use as many as are helpful and create your
own.
- Rest as long as you feel the need
- Bring you spouse breakfast in bed
- Spend time in prayer and scripture reading
- Take a walk and let God speak to you
- Enjoy the community meal with your hosts and fellow retreat guests
- Read a book or a couple of pages
- Pray, nap, walk, talk, play, meditate, or simply enjoy the view
- Contemplate, journal or discuss the day’s experiences
- Enjoy a “date” with you spouse
- Grab a new friend and explore the community
The Bethany Retreat and the Sinai Experience have additional suggestions
throughout the program that will deepen to your experience.
Please remember the IRS continuing education requirement of 4-6 hours
in program activities; all activities listed above and others that you
do to deepen your relationship with God are acceptable program options.
