The waves Peter faced could symbolize the waves today's "Peters" - our pastors - face on a daily basis. They face the breakers of frustration, loneliness, doubt, stress, church conflict, moral failure, and the problems of daily life. These billows claim nearly 20,000 pastors annually.
But it doesn't have to be that way!
Today, Jesus' hand is the body of Christ - each of us - reaching out to provide a place of renewal. For some pastors it looks like five days with him at a Pastors Retreat Network retreat. It sounds like laughter and silence, and the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.
