Philosophy of Ministry

Pastors Retreat Network serves the Christian Church by providing individuals and couples involved in full time pastoral ministry with five-day self-directed retreats. Self-directed is, essentially, God-directed. We provide a variety of materials, some simple program ideas, a quiet setting and time with the Lord. In the stillness of the moment, they are able to hear His voice and follow his lead to a deeper, truer relationship with Christ.

Pastors Retreat Network has a number of distinctive characteristics that, in combination, set us apart from almost every other retreat and pastoral care organization.

Word-centered: The Holy Spirit is the only teacher and the Bible our chief resource material.

Experience-focused: Books and other materials draw the pastor close to the heart of God. This is not an academic exercise; it is a spiritual experience.

Excellence-oriented: We evaluate every aspect of hospitality and program regularly to continue to improve the experience for our guests.

Freely given: We do not charge a fee for a Pastors Retreat Network experience. This common gift provides a level playing field to all who come and is a vivid demonstration of God’s grace.
